We are a forming EXIST Forschungstransfer team. Through this EXIST project, we aim to commercialize recent innovations centered around the White Rabbit project.
White Rabbit is a technology originally developed at CERN that provides scalable, fiber-based, sub-nanosecond timing distribution. However, current White Rabbit links still suffer from fiber-induced asymmetry and difficult calibration, restricting their use primarily to the research community. As Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) remain vulnerable to jamming, spoofing, and disruption, precise and resilient timing is becoming increasingly critical for industrial and critical-infrastructure applications.
The PTB team has demonstrated an easy-to-install, continuously monitored adaptation with an improved performance of 20 ps residual offset.
The planned startup will translate these results into next-generation, easy-to-install White Rabbit hardware, expanding its reach from research markets—such as metrology, research networks, and quantum systems—to high-value commercial markets in telecom, finance, data centers, and critical infrastructure.
